Appointments

New Arrivals

The practice generally sees new arrivals to the country on Wednesdays.  You will be asked to attend the surgery and sit and wait until a GP or Nurse sees you.  They will assess your health history, complete some basic screening tests and identify and offer support with any further needs.

Advance Appointments

To book an advance appointment with a clinician, please ring the surgery on 0114 3054050 or visit the reception desk.

Same Day Appointments

If you need to see someone today, you can visit our drop-in clinics each morning (except Wednesdays when we concentrate on new arrivals) where you will be asked to sit and wait until a Nurse becomes available.

When phoning in you will be asked for the reason for your request, this will be so we can assign the best appointment for you.  Did you know that your local chemist can now handle many minor ailments? If you do not pay for your medication, this can be extended to the chemist on prescription items. Further details can be found under the section relating to the “Pharmacy Scheme”.

We always try and place you with the doctor of your choice but that may not always be possible. Please note all doctors and locums have full access to your full record.

Interpreters

If you require an interpreter, please ask at the time of booking.

Missed Appointments

When patients fail to attend a pre-booked appointment it prevents someone else being seen. If patients frequently fail to turn up or give enough cancellation notice (24 hours) they may be asked to register elsewhere.
